Kim Painter

Kim Painter is a multi instrumentalist who was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. Kim’s love and passion for music started very young as she was raised in a musical family where her dad taught as a guitar teacher, and mom frequently sang in the car and around the house. Her first love of music was singing. When Kim started playing violin at age 10, she knew she had a real driven and inspired love for playing and reading music. This inspiration led her to also learn guitar, bass guitar, and start writing her own songs. She studied further in music and specialized in voice as a college student at MSU where she sang in the Missouri State Concert Chorale under the direction of Guy Webb. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance in 2010. Kim has played in several local Springfield original bands including recorded projects Luna J and SALT. She currently is the bass player for Unessential Jane, a funk and neo soul driven band focused on music with a message. Kim currently teaches bass guitar, voice, beginner guitar, violin, group lessons, and songwriting.

Ben Grosser

Ben Grosser is a multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Springfield, MO. He began playing the piano in third grade, inspired by the film “The School of Rock,” starring Jack Black. However, it wasn’t the exuberant character portrayed by Jack Black that motivated Ben; it was the shy keyboardist who initially feared he wasn’t “cool enough” but later impressed the audience with his incredible keyboard skills. In 2007, Ben founded SuperCharge, his first band, with several classmates from Field Elementary in Springfield. As the lead vocalist and bass player for SuperCharge, Ben performed over 300 live shows while still in middle school. In 2011, SuperCharge played at the world-famous Whisky-a-Go-Go in Los Angeles. Since then, Ben has released multiple full-length albums (including three vinyl releases) and two EPs with the bands Leisure Shores and Yellow Velvet Milk Club. He spends much of his time composing in his home studio, blending electric and acoustic guitars, synthesizers, and bass guitar.
